New Stores for DRM in 2012

DRM has successfully ended the 2011 year. We have continued to provide excellent customer service, promote and execute new products and make positive impacts in the communities we serve. DRM is proud to announce the relocation of a current location in Janesville, WI and the opening of a brand new location in Gretna, NE. DRM will now own and operate 70 Arby's restaurants.

We have proudly served the Janesville community for 33 years in our current location. This location has consistently been a top performer in the company and we have enjoyed a great relationship at the current location.

In our constant effort to serve the community and provide the best service, we see great opportunity in the new Arby's location. Entering Janesville and driving down Milton Ave. Arby's will be the first business you see. We will proudly serve as the entrance to our community for regular patrons and visitors alike. What better way to showcase our outstanding service and food, than to be the first visible restaurant when entering town from the interstate! DRM is happy to welcome a new location that boosts our curb appeal and propels us further into the Good Mood business.

We are also very excited to introduce Arby's breakfast at the new Janesville location, coming soon!

DRM has wanted to expand our Nebraska market for a few years now. After looking in the current markets we operate in, Gretna, NE has been determined as the best place for us to start our new adventure.

The new Gretna location is located directly off I-80 at HWY 370. With convenience in mind we want our customers to be able to hop off the interstate, get some food and jump right back onto the road. The new location will also serve the small community of Gretna and surrounding West Omaha neighborhoods. We are happy to start our journey in this newly developed area and plan to show the people and visitors of Gretna why Arby's is Good Mood Food.

Our goal is to be the best restaurants in the towns we operate in and always serve our guests with a Good Mood Food attitude. We want our stores to shine in all aspects and moving into new locations gives us the opportunity to provide a friendly, clean, polished and professional looks to match the service we will continue to provide.

We look forward to serving the citizens of Janesville and Gretna Good Mood Food for the next 30 years and beyond.

Resolution 2012: Eat Smarter, Feel Better

The best way to make a New Year's resolution stick is to start small. Sure, you can set a big goal, such as losing a specific number of pounds, running your first 5-K, or just feeling more energetic and healthier by summer's end, but don't stop there. Make sure you also set easy-to-reach mini-goals, simple steps you know you can handle every single day, to help you gradually make your way toward your larger resolution.

For example, many of us make the resolution of eating better and making more nutritious choices. But how do you do that? Pay attention to the details in your diet. You don't have to make dramatic changes. Easing into more wholesome food is the way to go. Here are five simple ways you can use Arby's to help you keep your resolution to eat better.

  • Swap sides. Opting for a Side Salad (no dressing) instead of a small order of Curly Fries will save you 380 calories while also reducing fat and sodium.

  • Wrap it up. You might be surprised to learn that every Arby's sandwich can be rolled up into a whole-grain wrap (upon request). By doing a wrap-for-bun switcheroo, you'll cut calories while boosting your fiber intake with the whole-grain goodness.

  • Seek salads. When you order a Chopped Farmhouse Salad with roast chicken (no dressing), you'll munch on fiber-filled veggies, such as red onion and diced tomato, which can help you feel fuller longer.

  • Take tea. Freshly brewed, unsweetened iced tea contains only 5 calories. Compared with sodas, which can have 260 calories or more, it's a smart and refreshing choice.

  • Go for value. Make the most of every dollar and eat smaller portions with Value Menu items. On the menu, you'll find the Jr Roast Beefwhich offers the same great taste as the Classic Roast Beef but with 150 fewer caloriesplus wholesome sides like Apple Slices with Strawberry Yogurt Dip.

Arby's Fights Childhood Hunger with the Help of Foursquare Checkins

Fast food chain Arby's announced today that they'll be donating $1 to help fight childhood hunger for each checkin at their restaurants during November.

The Arby's Foundation has already made a donation of $300,000 to Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign and they're looking to raise another million with the help of customers. In addition to the $1 Arby's will be donating for each checkin, they're also soliciting in-store donations from customers and additional donations via their Facebook page.

"The impact of hunger is universal in a child's life. It affects everything from their ability to concentrate in school, to their ability to sleep well. And yes, hunger does affect a child's mood," said Kate Atwood, executive director of the Arby's Foundation in a press release. "One in five children in America is suffering from hunger, so it's easy to understand the urgency for change. We're already seeing that Arby's customers really care about this cause. They get it and they want to help."

Social media users can help increase the awareness of childhood hunger by taking the pledge on Arby's Facebook page, where they can also keep track of the campaign's progress. A chart tracks the amount donated from check-ins and in-store donations.

ARBY'S DECLARES ANDY JOHNSON WINNER OF NATIONAL CASTING CALL VIDEO CONTEST Des Moines Arby's "Connoisseur" Will Appear In National TV Ad ATLANTA

(August 11, 2011) - Without a doubt, Andy Johnson has proven he has what it takes to put America in a "good mood." For his imaginative video interpretation of the Arby's. It's Good Mood Food. advertising campaign, Arby's Restaurant Group, Inc. has chosen Andy as the winner of the Casting Call Video Contest and is awarding him with a $10,000 cash prize and a role in its next national TV ad.

The self-proclaimed Arby's connoisseur was selected from more than 800 video entries submitted since July 11, 2011. As a reward for sharing his "good mood," Andy will be flown to the East Coast where he will join the cast of the next Arby's commercial, including spokesperson, R.B., for a day of filming.

In July, Arby's launched a contest challenging fans nationwide to submit their own video versions of the Arby's. It's Good Mood Food. advertising campaign. Via Arby's YouTube Channel, people across the country shared their video interpretations for a chance at TV stardom. An Arby's panel then judged the entries and selected Andy as the winner based on his originality, presence and ability to instill an overall "good mood" in viewers.

Andy credits his passion for music, degree in video production and love of Arby's as inspiration for his "Hey Arby's" video. In the video, Andy sings original lyrics about why Arby's puts him in a "good mood" and, with the help of a green screen, superimposed mini versions of himself on the guitar, bass, keyboard and drums play back-up. View Andy's winning submission by visiting www.ArbysCastingCall.com. While there, click on the Gallery to see all entries. "I created the whole video in less than 24 hours - not a hard feat when you love Arby's as much as I do," said Andy Johnson. "I came up with the idea for my video on a Thursday; I wrote the lyrics and the tune that night, and by the next evening, I had recorded the song and myself singing at Arby's."

It's no wonder Andy considers himself an Arby's "connoisseur." His first Arby's visit was with his brother and friends when he got his driver's license. Since then, Andy and his family have made it a tradition to visit the local Arby's at 1700 22nd Street in West Des Moines, every Christmas Eve. Andy even eats at Arby's with his wife every Valentine's Day, the same place they went on their very first Valentine's Day date together. "This contest was inspired by the fans and for the fans," said Bob Kraut, Senior Vice President of Advertising and Marketing Communications, Arby's Restaurant Group. Inc. "We at Arby's can't think of a more deserving and passionate fan to award this grand prize to than Andy Johnson. Anyone that breathes, eats, sleeps and dreams of Curly Fries like Andy is a winner in our eyes."
